I NEED ALLIES!!!, AS SOME OF YOU KNOW, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE T-1 CONNECTION
I HAVE HERE I WAS DOWNLOADING STUFF, WHICH IS NOT ILLEGAL, BUT THEN I STARTED
DOWNLOADING FILMS, SPECIALLY SINCE ME AND CHICAO WE ARE TRYING TO GET SEVERAL
"CLASSIC" FILMS. AND IN FACT I HAD BEEN DOWNLOADING FILMS FOR A WHILE, BUT
APPARENTLY FILMS FROM "PARAMOUNT PICTURES" HAVE A PROTECTION SYSTEM. LET ME
EXPLAIN. APPARENTLY PARAMOUNT HIRED A COMPANY CALLED "BayTSP" WHICH BASICALLY
WHAT IT DOES IS TRACK USERS FROM SEVERAL P2P-SHARING PROGRAMS SUCH AS KAZAA,
E-MULE, E-DONKEY, MORPHEUS, ETC.... AND THEN IF A DOWNLOAD OR UPLOAD (SOMEONE
DOWNLOADING FROM YOU) OCCURS WITH ONE OF THEIR FILMS THEN THEY FOLLOW TO SEND AN
E-MAIL, EITHER TO THE ISP (INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER) OR TO THE USER ITSELF. BUT
SINCE I AM USING THE FIU NETWORK AND ROUTER (MY CONNECTION GOES THROUGH THE FIU
NETWORK TO THE OUTSIDE) THEN FIU ADMINISTRATORS RECEIVED THE E-MAIL FROM BayTSP.

I HAVE COPIED AND PASTED WHAT FIU INTERNET SERVICES (JAVIER MUNOZ) SENT ME,
WHICH IS BASICALLY RESENDING ME THE MAIL THEY RECEIVED TOGETHER WITH SOME
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS. THEY ALSO INCLUDED THE ATTACH THAT BayTSP SENT WHICH
INDICATED WHICH FILES WERE THE ONES THAT PRODUCED THIS. SO, LET ME EXPLAIN IT.
HERE YOU CAN SEE THE MAIL I RECEIVED. IN GRAY IS WHAT FIU ADMINISTRATORS ADDED
TO THE MAIL AND THEN SENT T ME. IN BLUE-GREEN IS WHAT THE COMPANY SENT FIU
ORIGINALLY, AND IN RED IS WHAT THE ATTACHMENT SENT BY THE COMPANY (THE ONE HIRED
BY "PARAMOUNT" FOR COPYRIGHT PROTECTION MATTERS) IS IN RED.

AS YOU CAN SEE, WHAT MADE THIS HAPPEN WAS THAT I WAS DOWNLOADING APOCALYPSE
NOW AND CHINATOWN (TWO GREAT CLASSIC FLMS I HAVEN'T WATCHED)

AND BESIDES THE FOLLOWING MAIL I RECEIVED FROM FIU WHICH I HAVE POSTED I ALSO
RECEIVED AN ATTACHMENT (NOT THE ONE FROM THE COMPANY, BUY ONE MADE BY FIU) WHICH
IS A MEMO THAT I MUST PRINT AND SIGN WITHIN 48 HOURS, OTHERWISE I WOULD BE
BLOCKED FROM THE INTERNET. AND NOT ONLY ALL THAT, BUT I MUST TAKE THAT MEMO
(ONCE PRINTED AND SIGNED) TO THE FIU INTERNET OFFICE. IN CASE THIS HAPPENS AGAIN
I WAS WARNED I WOULD BE
"referred to the
Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution". (AFTER THIS POST I AM
POSTING THE MEMO ATTACHED BY FIU TO THIS MAIL WHICH IS IN FACT, I REPEAT, A MAIL
BY BayTSP WITH INFORMATION ADDED BY FIU AND THE ATTACHMENT FROM THE COMPANY
PASTED.
